#we really don’t appreciate Suki as much as we should #the anon who requested this pointed out that you see two types of Suki posts #ones about her fighting and ones about her with Sukka #and don’t get me wrong #those things are great #but she really is a lot more than that #she grew up in an incredibly isolated society - the kind where they could watch thousands die and not care #and all it took was a few days with the Gaang for her to realize that that was wrong and to usher in a new era on the island #as a teen mind you #and then when she meets up with the Gaang again she starts a healthy relationship with Sokka #becomes good friends with all the others - and that’s just in the moments we see #I’m sure there’s many more bonding moments that we don’t #she saves Toph’s life (twice) #Sokka Hakoda and Zuko at the Boiling Rock #sacrifices herself for Appa and to some extent the rest of them (they wouldn’t have survived without him and she knew that) #and was charming and funny and cute and nice and brave and a complete and total powerful hero the entire time #A+ Suki

She was perfect. Not ‘good’. Not ‘better than expected’. Perfect. 

I would’ve surveyed the room before charging in. She didn’t have to. Her strange training enables her to… read opponents. Body language is a real language for her. Her only language. With one glance, she already knew what they’d just started to think about doing. The fight was over before her feet touched the ground. But that’s not what impressed me.

Those people were scum. Cold-blooded killers. They’d fired at women and children, killing dozens. Batgirl knew this. She also knew how I felt about it. How little I’d have minded any extra… zeal… on her part. But… there wasn’t any. At her speed it must’ve been difficult, but she did just enough to take them out. No more.

She was… it wouldn’t have looked this way to anyone else, mind you, but she was… Gentle. Even with them.

Perfect.
